Free CD burning software?

Post by vicaphit »

Anyone have a good CD burning software that is compatible with Vista?

I have a dell, and when I upgraded I lost all of the pre-installed programs, as well as my burning software. On top of that, the windows burning software doesnt seem to work, and freezes the system every time I try to use it.

Thanks in advance

If you burn DVDs though, Nero isn't good. I've tried burning anime (Naruto Shippuuden) and the audio and video was way off. There's syncing problems with it....

The ending of the intro song is playing at the beginning of the intro song (video wise). And this is using Nero 7.9___. I went back to Nero 6 and all's been well. No syncing problems.

edit:

We don't advocated stealing software in any form, whether you imply it or not.

I dont even have a DVD burner. What I like to do is rip all of my CDs onto my computer, then burn CDs with 8-10 albums on them so instead of having 40 CDs in my car, I only have 4 or 5

Did you find some software yet?

If not, then try this out InfraRecorder on the download page it says "for Windows 2000/XP/Vista"

Two years back I picked up a "legal" version of Nero 6.x for only $20 as version 7.x was hitting the street. If you have any computer market & swap shows in the area, look through the software bins of slightly older releases. This is where I pick up my best deals for bargin prices.

Recently, I got a full "legal" version of Office 2003 now that Office 2007 is out. Price on that was only $40. :)

Sure, the software is a little out of date, but hey, it does the job well. I could have gotten M$-Works, but that would have cost more with less features.

Good question - might want to call them or emai lthem before purchase. I know the newest version of the 7 bundle IS vista compatible, but I am not sure on this one.

Might want to check ebay also - they have some on there too.

CDBurnerXP 4 is out now and it is now compatible with Vista. I think it is one of the better free cd burning apps out there.

How large is that file? If it is over 100MB I may have to get it sometime else, but if it is less I have a chance of getting it over dial up

If you are talking about CDBurnerXP, it is only about 2 meg download.

For simple straight-forward burning (like simply burning the data onto the disk with no conversion whatsoever, like burning MP3s straight to your CD),
you might want to try ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/. It's free just like CDBurnerXP.
