My old Kodak found its way into a whataburger cup filled with Dr.Pepper, so I need a new one.
I only want to spend $200 on the camera+ SD card and will hopefully purchase it in the next few weeks. The bulk of my pictures will just be close up shots from vacations/ friends.
I have a Kodak Easy Share z760, its 6mp with 3x opti, uses SD cards. I use it all the time, I like it. I can get with in 3 inches of something with the macro.
well this sucks, just looked on kodak's site for a link and it looks like my camera just got disco'd.

Canon A710 IS for me, and I'm getting ready to pick up a Canon A550 for my daughter. I've used only Sony cameras in the past, but with most of them still use Memory Stick, I am trying to get more mainstream media and theboth of the Canon's use SD. My old Sony probably ran somewhere around 12,000 pictures with no problems except the battery failing 2x. My daughter has a fairly new (14-16 months old) Sony cybershot that still takes pictures, but the LCD screen doesn't work very well.
Cliff notes, in my opinion: Sony; bad because of early failure and proprietary media... Canon; good all around cameras at decent prices.
