Firefox FTW :)

Post by kenc51 »

Europeans embrace Firefox in record numbers
Firefox has made huge inroads in Europe over the past year, to the point where Internet Explorer is in danger of losing its market share lead in some countries.
What I found very interesting was this map and quote

Two countries showed double-digit growth over the past four months. Ireland jumped from 24.9 percent to 38.6 percent, and Hungary went from 27.2 percent to 39.7 percent.

Yeah me too, every time I help someone with their computer, I go like, hey you should use Firefox, so I install it and hide all IE shortcuts

I've thought of an even sneakier way to get FireFox converts. Change any Internet Explorer shortcut links to point to FireFox, and they probably won't even notice their browser has changed!

What you would need to do then is tell them that there was an automatic update to windows and this is the way internet explorer looks now...

What issues? The only thing is that on the main page I don't always see all the new topics, which is nothing more than a minor anoyance.

Maybe add an IE7 skin on Firefox to really complete the deception.
