Provided there haven't been any manufacturing delays, they're due out in August.

AMD admitted that its next-gen processor, the "Phenom", won't be available in significant volume until Q1 2008 when I was on their Q2 analyst conference call just last week. Sounds like a paper launch will happen in 2007 with reviewers and select OEM's getting processors and thats it.

I see...

I was kind of hoping that the new processor would be out in August because I know BioShock is rumored to be coming out later in that month. A new game like this should have support for that many cores in a processor, EPP memory and SLI configurations and should run extremely well with all that hardware. Not to mention that the game will also be compatible with XP!

And again it's not so bad that the new AMD processor won't be out til the fist quarter of next year because I don't have the money to invest in a new system ATM. So that gives me time.

But another bad thing is that I'm anxious to see what the game is all about and can't wait!

to be technical its AM2+ and is backwards compatible with AM2 which is just awesome, im sure that will help sales a bit also (people not having to buy new boards just for the chip) i know my next board is gonna be AM2, unless AM2+ boards come out and arent much more expensive when i actually buy

now that i think about it.. :-k Are there gonna be AM2+ boards after Phenom comes out??

There better be! As far as I can see there are no AMD boards that support DD3 Memory so far...

... if that helps
