Help Finding eSATA Bracket For Intel D975XBX2

Post by rbichamp »

Hi,

I am looking to buy a single port PCI eSATA bracket to connect to the red port on the Marvell controller on the motherboard. Has anyone found a reliable, single port one like Intel pictures in the manual (attached). I'd strongly prefer a single port one from a reputable manufacturer.

I've seen one which advertises itself as "converting" your internal SATA ports into eSATA through the bracket. Would ones advertised as such not be a good choice? With this board, are we really "converting," or are we just extending an integrated eSATA port to the edge of the case?

Example - http://www.amazon.com/Bracket-Converts- ... 386&sr=8-5

Please post direct links to any that you would suggest. Thanks!

edit: I am going to be using this to connect a Western Digital My Book Premium ES Edition external drive - WDG1SU5000. Western Digital says "You will also need an eSATA cable. The My Book Premium ES drive requires an I-type eSATA cable. L-type connectors will not work with WD external drives."

I got mine from http://www.satacables.com. I've had it installed since March and is working fine. It was only $11 plus shipping, not a huge investment.
