Corel Painter Question

I'm planning on learning this program. Can anyone tell me if I should get a pen for imput or is just using a mouse ok?

It's like photo shop, mouse will work to start with; but the more hard core you get about it the more you're going to want the pen. If nothing else start out with a small pen and tablet I've heard good things about the Wacom Graphire tablet. You can find the 4x5 tablets for around $80.
