D975XBX2 won't power up

Post by jcomp »

I built a new computer with a D975XBX2 board. When I powered up, all of the LEDS and fans worked but the system didn't boot. I realized that the 2X4 power connector wasn't connected completely (I'm using a 2X2 to 2X4 adapter). I plugged it in and now the fans don't work and it won't boot. The only LED that's on is the power indicator. There is also light on the board itself that stays on as long as the power cord is connected. Any ideas??????

Can you get in to BIOS? Any event log messages in BIOS?

No.....with the 2X4 power plugged in, I only get the power led light on and a light on the board......no fans, no video, no bios, nada. The other fans start for a split second and then stop

I would suggest going back and checking (unplug & re-plug) all connections (both power & data) then reset your RAM, video card and any other add in cards. Then try to POST with only hard drive plugged in and see what you get.
