Optical Drives Down!!! Help!!!
Optical Drives Down!!! Help!!!
Okay, here's the deal. I'm running vista home premium, a samsung sata super multi dvd burner (no blu ray), and a sony ide optical drive. Vista does not recognize these drives. The BIOS does, though. Any ideas?

Re: Optical Drives Down!!! Help!!!
Turn the computer off, unplug the SATA drive, reboot.
Windows should find the IDE - then do the same and plug in the SATA and see if it finds that one.
Vista had no problems recognizing my sata burner, but I do not have any use for 2 drives so I dont have any IDE drives inside.
ALSO - I ran into problems when running SATA and IDE at the same time with hard drives - posted about it on here somewhere, but it was a BIOS setting. I had to change the RAID SATA ports to straight IDE for the IDE drive and the 2 SATA drives to work together.

Why not just use 2 sata burners?
