For all those with a Facebook account, add this application http://www.facebook.com/apps/applicatio ... 4013739499

We can add casual users, just by the curiosity factor

I was going to try and add you on facebook then, but there are 3 people with your name >_<

I've added the app, even if i can't justify folding electric use anymore.

Really, I'm shocked. I'm the one at Merrimack College. And oddly, none of those people are related to me.

Lol. Facebook is taking over the world.

That said, I shall join your application.

Crap. Too bad I can't have 2 usernames, since I'm folding for 2 different teams. One of these teams being Legit Reviews of course.

In case you're wondering, I can't run the SMP because my computer is off for like half of the day.

BTW, when I overclocked my CPU from 2Ghz to 2.4, the time it takes to complete a step hasn't changed.

LR Team has bumped up to the 118 position.

18 more to bump to be in the top 100 list at Stanford.

Can the team do this before the end of the year?

Is it possible?

I don't think we could pick up enough to do that :( We are a couple million or so points back from some of those teams.

edit: looking at the stats we are going to be in this general area for a long while unless we get some more production. Time to step it up fellas!

Thank the lord for at least one other person not falling into the social networking void :)
I have myspace and facebook blocked on my router so the kid cant get at them either :p

Top 100 might take a bit yet ;) I will be adding a Q6700 to the mix as soon as they ship it.

Mike

OK - computers do NOT require much power. It is better on a computer to let it run 24/7 rather than turning it on and off all the time.

Excuses, excuses :p [-X

proof

charges on my electric bill - ALL PER KWH (1000watts running a full hour = 1kwh (10X100w light bulbs on for 1 hour)
Distribution - .026260
Transistion - .007760
Generation - .046580
Transmission - .012750

Total per KWH = .09335

10cents per 1000watts, rounding up. right now my dual core system is using 187watts from my battery backup - heck go for the high road and say yours uses 500watts per hour. so that would be 12kwh per day which is $1.20. Less than the price of a fast food burger and you might help people to live.

Dont drink 3 beers that week and you just paid for the power you need :) Might wanna check how much those video game systems or big screen tv's take, or the microwave, oven, cooktop....hell our double oven will use over 9000watts with both running!! cooktop I believe is around 4000!

off the soapbox now :p

Hold on there Mike! You don't have to be so drastic.
May by if I don't boil the kettle each day for my morning coffee, I can still have my beers? I can wait till work for my caffine, I don't know if I can go without my beer though :drinkers:

Its really not numbers as in members, its how much do those members put out. 20+% of our total members fold. That is good. OCForums (Team 32, and number 3) has only 8.9% of there members folding, but to prove my point, there top PPD producer by himself puts out more than double our team's daily PPD. If half of the members we have that fold and have a dual core, folded SMP, I'd wager to guess we'd double our daily PPD. I have one laptop folding 24/7 and I can put out 1.3k per day. If we all could do that, we'd be doing say conservatively 33k. That's over 5k better than currently. I'd wager that 80% of our forums have a SMP capable processor. If Stanford would loosen the deadlines a bit, it be nice. 2-3 days is really not enough.

We need to recruit some big boys. That's all it comes down to. I'd like us to be constantly over 1000k average PPD. In Three months our net team jump will be -1 spot. Yeah PS3s would help, its better than nothing.

Some ideas for you guys, is ask your Schools (both high schools and colleges), bosses at corporations, or anywhere that has a large amount of unused computers. I know the small law firm I work at has at least 50 computers that are Dual Core Pentiums that go unused every night from 5pm to 7am. I asked and was turned down. Would have been nice use those for 14hours a day. Same with my school. Now were not talking about folding on a server, never ever should you ask that. But if the computers are on, then why not. A lot of people like my school and work, were not happy with the increase in power (and thus cost). My laptop folds 24/7 except for Wednesdays when I have lab, and it doesn't fold from 8am to 3pm, because I need to use the battery for other things.

If your SMP install the FAH Affinity Scheduler. It makes a difference as small as it might be.

Recruit your friends, family, coworkers, whatever

There is also going to be an anouncement at SuperComputing 2007 by Stanford

FAH will have a presence at Supercomputing 2007 in several places. Stanford University has a booth and FAH will be pretty prominently displayed there. Also, we're hoping to have a nice surprise to show off (more as we get sooner to SC2007).

I'm hoping its the V6 client having the ability to run SMP or Normal work units on Windows. Right now its just Linux. Either that or hope that QMDs are back, but yeah that is not happening

I've taken a look at the stats on folding.extremeoverclocking.com for our team today.

A team folder going by the title of WARSS is just slamming out the WU's. Way-to-go !!! :)

I wonder what he has for such a killer machine. He will pass me in no time literally. It's taken me almost a few months to get where I'm at.

Also, team folder geokilla007, keep up the good work! :P I see you on the roster too.
