Just saw this article, looks like it would make a nice cheap folding system.

So....
i'll probably pick one up with a little bit cheaper Gigabyte Motherboard, but not sure on the memory to use, seems to be a bit of a price war going on in memory.
My son wants to build his first system and i thought this would be a good starting point, if anyone has any advice i'd like to hear it...
thanks,

I knew the exact processor you were talking about before I even looked. I VERY seriously considered this when I was looking to build a budget system, then said to hell with it and blew a wad on my gamer.

As for Ram, I have the Corsair Value 667 in my server, but had to run it in the gamer for a while, while I RMA'd it's RAM and it was able to run at 825, 4-4-4-12 2.1V without so much as a hiccup. As long as you don't have to deal with Corsair customer service, I would wholeheartedly recommend their products.
Gamer - Thermaltake Element S | PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Black | Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L | Intel E8400 | Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro | 4GB OCZ Reaper Ram | XFX 8800GTX | Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer | Seagate 7200.10 320GB

HTPC / Folder - Palit 9600GT 1GB Sonic | AMD Phenom 9600 | Corsair DHX 4GB | ECS GF8200A | OCZ StealthXStream 500
Thanks to Palit, AMD, Corsair and ECS for sponsoring the 2008 Folding Give-away!

You could get the XFX nForce 650i Ultra ATX board for ~$98

Since the CPU has a FSB of 800 the board doesn't need to be able to clock very high. This board also supports ram running unlinked so you could buy some 'el cheapo stuff to go with it.
