Intel Core 2 Quad Temperature - Please Help

Post by nagukush »

Hi Friends !

Just wanted to request you for some help regarding the temperature of my Intel Core 2 Quad. Actually my System was restarting by itself and just to check on the Temperature I downloded and installed Speedfan.

Speedfan shows the following -

Temp - 62C
HD0 - 41C
Core 0 - 32C
Core 1 - 32C
Core 2 - 32C
Core 3 - 32C
Core - 62C
Ambient - 0C

Is this normal or am I in danger ? Kindly advice because I'm really worried about this. It will really be a great help friends - please help me...

Should I use any other utility to check the temperature ? What should be the normal temperature ? What can I do to minimize this ?

Kindly help me.
Regards
Kush

don't use Speedfan, use Coretemp. Speedfan's temps aren't always accurate

as the man says use core temp rather then speed fan..

basically you might you should maybe (though I am not 100% sure on this even now) be worried if under full load i.e. 2 othos one running on cores 1+2 the other running on core 3+4 for a temperature above 70C.. you might be able to run stable higher then that but i would say be cautious if it is at that level.

The latest beta should work the best regardless of what core stepping you're running.

62C is quite OK I guess, and if you're overclocking even up to 75C is OK. Though, just to be safe, I would personally keep my CPU on less than 50C on LOAD. :)

And...like suggested, you'd better use CoreTemp to check your temps, as it is MUCH MORE accurate than SpeedFan! :?

GOOD LUCK and keep us updated...

I don't think you can keep a C2Q under 50C with air cooling under full load.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear... :|

I meant that I keep MY E6600 Dual-Core CPU (forgot to mention I have a E6600 #-o ) on less than 50C on Maximum LOAD, BUT...OF COURSE a Quad-Core will excess much more heat and therefore I said that 62C is quite OK...
