Hate to bring back an old thread, but I've added some more memory to the system...

Got in four 2GB 667MHz FB-DIMM modules, so now it's running 12GB over the previous configuration of 4GB.

Before:
The original 4GB of Samsung memory
The original 4GB of Samsung memory

After:
12GB of 667MHz FB-DIMM's!
12GB of 667MHz FB-DIMM's!
fbdimm_12gb.jpg (97.38 KiB) Viewed 7718 times
The BIOS registers 12GB!
The BIOS Screen with 12GB Installed
The BIOS Screen with 12GB Installed
v8_memory_upgrade.jpg (48.92 KiB) Viewed 7723 times

I should have 8GB more coming so soon it will have eight 2GB modules for a grand total of 16GB, which is 2GB per core as it has 8 cores.

who sad it wasn't.... :) It's going to be SMP folding here in a little bit -- was memory limited before running all the SMP in a Virtual environment, but won't be now.

Nate,

If you get that machine hooked up on the net, could I send a few Fluent ANSYS problems to be solved on it?

In two weeks, I'll be drooling over a Tyan server 10-processor quad-core machine with 60Gb of memory at work. But, it wouldn't be mine either.

At least you'll have the fun running that bad boy! :P

yeah I doubt that, at least any time soon. He's more than 200k behind you. He's only 100k behind me, it'll happen to me first.

maybe I can get away from working 18 hour days this week and actually get the 'beast running again. My daily driver is crashed and I haven't had time to fix it either, so I'm down to Behemoth and my son's machine folding. Only like 1700ppd now. :(
