which types of multicore-per-die processors run the best compared to how much heat they produce(with the introduction of triple core(AMD) allowing more variety)

hard to say cause they are all going to be made on different processes... 90nm, 65nm, 45nm and for sure some of the native 8-core processors might be done on the 32nm manufacturing process... For example dual-core 65nm Core 2's and dual-core 45nm Penryn based processors will be hard to compare as they will have different cache sizes.

Plus we haven't seen the triple-core neutered quad-cores that AMD is coming out with, so who knows what they will be like.

Right now, core 2 duo's (dual core).

But like nate said, new things are coming out that we don't have stats on.

I'll admit that I voted for the triple core.

And like Dan said, some people don't have the stats to decide while others have better information that will be forth coming in time. 8-[

If HT3 is fully funtional on a triple core, just hold on for the ride! O:)
