I want a remote!

My computer is NOT an out-of-the-box HTPC. Does that mean I'm screwed? I want something where I can change songs, alter the volume etc. I was looking at the Harmony line, but I don't have an IR port/bay/thing on my desktop. What can I buy to add this functionality?

you can also opt for the 550 (no color lcd) for less. as for the ir port, if you have a tv tuner card, i think it comes with one. not sure though.

Just pick up a cheap PVR card with a remote. Down the road you might want the PVR functionality too.

Harmony 550 is good too, wonder if I can use my laptop with that. Check my review, its up there somewhere on the front page

I would recommend the Logitech MX Air if you have $150 dollars for it, I've heard really good things about it.

I wanted the Firefly, but I emailed their tech support who were honest enough to tell me that no, it does not work with Vista x64. Phooey.
