NVIDIA TO HOST DIRECTX 10 DEMO OF CRYSIS

Post by Apoptosis »

NVIDIA TO HOST HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DIRECTX 10 DEMO OF CRYSIS ON NZONE.COM
OCTOBER 26TH, 2007

News Facts:

o PC gamers will soon be able to play the most advanced video game ever created. The Crysis demo—available tomorrow from nZone.com—includes the complete first level of the game, representing about 45 minutes of gameplay.

o Crysis was developed on NVIDIA® GeForce® 8 Series graphics processors. NVIDIA programmers spent more than 5,000 engineering hours helping Crytek add the latest graphics technology to the game.

o Crysis features Extreme High Definition (XHD) support with up to 2560x1600 resolution—roughly twice the resolution of today’s video-game consoles.

o NVIDIA and Electronic Arts will host a huge LAN party featuring Crysis and The Orange Box November 16th – 18th in the San Francisco Bay Area. More details coming soon!

o The demo will be available Saturday, October 27th from nZone.com. Link: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_crysis_downloads.html.
The final version of the game is scheduled for release in North America and Europe on November 16th, 2007.

Quote by Roy Taylor, vice president of content for NVIDIA:

“Crysis is without a doubt the world’s most advanced video game and the most important game to come out since Half Life. We applaud our friends at Crytek and EA for their spectacular achievement. There’s never been a game that looked this good and delivered such an immersive gaming experience. The only question is: Are you ready?”

Quote by Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO:
“Originally we set two extreme and mutually exclusive goals: 1) pushing the boundaries of interactivity and non-linearity, and 2) achieving a realistic experience where you forget you’re playing a game. With the deep technical expertise of NVIDIA’s world-class support team, we achieved these two seemingly impossible goals, defining the heart of Crysis. We developed Crysis on NVIDIA graphics processors and we recommend GeForce 8800 graphics cards for the best experience.”

forgot the screenshots... I shrunk them down a bit for faster loading... they are 1024 wide, so be sure to click on them to see it all.

It should be noted that all these images were captured on an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX video card.

It actually came out last night at 11pm central.... 1.77 GB in size... grab it now... I'm downloading it at 500k a second!

Remember to download the new nvidia drivers that came out yesterday for Crysis... They are the 169.01 beta drivers - http://forums.legitreviews.com/about12266.html

just played through the demo with a Radeon 2900 XT graphics card and 7.10 drivers... worked fine for me... I actually enjoyed single player better than the multi player demo.

From what you saw in the demo, would you say that all the hype about Crysis is justified?
