And one has to buy a new mobo again... There must be some secret pact between mobo manufacturers and CPU makers. I can't believe that every new design needs a new pin layout -> new mobo. :(

Ya, we seem to be in a time where the CPU and Mobo makers are still ironing out the new architectural differences... so lots of hardware design differences.

However, my hunch is that intel's 775 and AMD's 939 will be around for a while (ie - more than a year :) )
