Are you still reading high temps?

sparky, yes i M.

LOOK at the pic.

TAT says my CPU is about 35C.

everything is running fine.

someone said to take off one memory stick. then the other. would that be a problem?

ever since i buillt it, i must say it takes a min or two until i can open the first application after the desktop appears. is that normal with 2 Gig of PC 6400?

I would say TAT is more accurate than desktop utility. Something is definitely wrong here. As far as removing one stick of Ram, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it. Regarding the slow response time after boot, what OS are you using? My XP is on my RAID 0 partition as is my Vista but I experience a similar problem with my applications being slow to respond after boot in Vista as well.
