Are we taling FPS as in Frames-Per-Second in a game? If so, my vote would be for ...
Need For Speed: Pro Street 2007.

Not quite what we're talking about (first person shooter) lol.... but anyways, you said Need for Speed: Pro Street 2007, does that mean that there'll be a Need for Speed: Pro Street 2008?

Re: Favorite FPS
I got hooked when Battlefield 1942 came out. that got me started with video games and then into computers
that game kinda amazed me in that i could run around and shoot some dudes, but i felt like flying, i could hop in a plane, but if i wanted to drive a tank, i could do that too but if i wanted to drive around like a crazy man in a jeep and jump off stuff, i could do that too. That game got me hooked and led to alot of nights of a pissed off girlfriend

I loved battlefield 1942, and the desert storm mod was awesome too!
I agree with you. Girlfriends get pissy when you play video games and don't give them constant attention.

Re: Favorite FPS
I never played system shock, but bioshock SUCKED!
I consider this game a mistake purchase. Im thinking of taking it back to EB or something to get some money out of it.

Re: Favorite FPS
Looks as though Crysis might make it to the top of my list.
It's the first game that's kept me away from Halo for more than 2 days in a row.
Still doin the single player for now.
It's so purrrrrty ...
The MP will be the determining long term factor.

Re: Favorite FPS
I liked Far Cry a lot but it got kinda dumb towards the end...like Crysis (yes I finished it). I like fighting people better than aliens and mutants for some reason. The dialogue in Far Cry was great.
S.I.N. was a good game along with Dues Ex. They were kinda similar IMO.
Prey was really cool. Storyline wasn't the best but the gameplay was really neat. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it.
I used to play A LOT of the Delta Force Land Warrior games online. I love being a sniper. I played a lot of Battlefield 2 for a while too.
COD and the other popular WWII game (whose name escapes me at the moment) were fun too.
On the Mac, Marathon II was awesome at the time!
A non-traditional FPS was Decent. I used to play it online with a buddy of mine. We had a lot of fun on that one but it got boring after a while.
