Re: Save $$ on AA batteries
Yes, many of the newer 6V pack cells are like this. It's the heavier 6V pack that isn't. But that's really hard to find these days unless it's marked commercial grade.
I also have a few of those "lite weight" D-cells that are really one AA inside. You can get those at the dollar store for two of them.
The best bet for flash lights is to own the white high intensity LEDS since the power drain is lower. This way, either battery size isn't used up.

Re: Save $$ on AA batteries
I read a blog by a bunch of electrical techs and they all said that the batteries inside are horrible quality short life span. A couple of them tried them in high tech devices and they wouldn't even power the devices up.
On the flip side and a lil off topic I have 2 gyration mice, the recharge power pack on one went bad and the replacement was high priced, so I pulled it apart and it was 3 rechargeable soldered together, soldered 3 new back into it and it's still working great.

I can't believe they lied to me. I found 6 AAs inside mine. Do you think this is because it was a store brand? Did anyone else have this problem?
