I'd say write one of the companies and see if they will make a deal with you for shipping out of country. I'm sure someone has to bite
Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
Even if you can do that, when it gets into the EU customs grabs it and themn sticks EU tax on whatever it was you paid in USD (even though there was USD tax on it already) so it doesn't work out any better that way either, and then you have trouble with things like RMA's warantees.hercules71185 wrote:I'd say write one of the companies and see if they will make a deal with you for shipping out of country. You'll have to pay the import duty to the guy when he calls to your door with the parts, don't pay? --> Then you get nothing, it gets sent back

Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
weird. I've never been to another country to see how stuff like that worked out. but, just out of curiosity other countries. What was supposed to make america "free" it seems like every country is now. Are they? customs here never catch anything. My friend orders a bunch of stuff from out of country and never even gets checked or taxed.
Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
I've ordered out of country parts and never had a problem with import taxes, comes UPS (usually Canadian orders). Got some camera equipment from East Germany (before the wall came down) no problem there. I think it's the sheer volume of stuff coming in that prevents them from checking imports here.
What gets me here in the US is order online from your own state and you pay sales tax, order from out of state no sales tax, guess where I order from.

Yea I don't understand that. I can't use tigerdirect because of it. They charge me sales tax and that ups the price then on top of it their shipping is outrageous. 65 dollars for a flat screen monitor

Been doign some research and heard miwed opinions regarding the 8500 gt, so I figure I should get the 8600 gts 256 mb then. It makes me wonder why they say cards like a 8300gs is DX10 compatible if you won't be able to use the features. Is that bad advertising? If I were in the US I'd sue lol.

Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
haha it supports dx10 shaders so it is dx10. BUT its just not powerful enough to do anything game wise. even the 8600 series isn't strong enough. Before you buy realize that the 8600gts is the same price as the radeon 3850 and the 8800gt 256. those 2 cards are better than the 8600gts in sli
Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
You know if the 8600 GTS were the same price as those upper level cards, I would not have even started this post.
Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
Wait a minute the 3850 IS the same price! SCORE! Winder if it is on a performance level to the 8800 equivalent. I say, in France graphics cards ar overpriced.

haha those cards are the same price that is why I suggested them
Re: Upgrading to Geforce 8300GS
Well yes but you see for some reason the 256 mb version of the 8800 is not available in France. Bloody baguette totting cheese eating bastards! ARGH! Anyway, the Radeon card will do. As for Crysis, I will wait 1-2 years then play it, just like I did with FarCry
