Well we were out power for about 16 hours and were the lucky ones, 60,000 on the local power grid without power, 40,000 surrounding without power. Got up this morning and like BioHazard all the ice was gone. There might be another wave tonight, local TV stations are out due to lack of power so news is sketchy.

We have a generator and use propane for heat so we got it better than most.

Nice pics Apop is the dog house heated?

Be safe ya'll

when we got hit in '98, i believe the ICE(not any snow) took about a week or two after we got power back to be all gone off the trees, and didnt melt off the ground till....well, spring.

i miss those winters soo much  the way the past few years have been going,we'll be lucky to have a half a foot stay through the season  i think we're feelin the Glabal Warming

Glad you guys are getting some relief. I work for an online travel agency and we have had a TON of calls over this ice storm. Luckily I am in training again for a promotion so I don't have to take them. :)

yeah... I live along the "I-44 corridor" that the weather folks always talk about. I managed to avoid the ice this time, but they are talking about significant snow fall this weekend... I just hope it holds off until Saturday afternoon, I have to run down and double check the cabin at the lake on Saturday morning.

Yea their saying possible significant snow accumulation this weekend. Hope it doesn't hit to early I have service calls to make Friday and Saturday, the ice made limbs rip power meters off houses, hit some computers with the power surge. One of my people it hit like every thing electronic in the house. Makes me glad I have so many APC UPS boxes, all the electronics covered to $20,000 connected to those.
