I got bored with all the crap weather and all, so I made a couple of little trim plates to fill in part of the meshed area on the top of the case to help keep a littleof the dust out of the thing. Besides, I was getting sort of tired of the way it looked and this was a easy and cheap solution..............

If for some reason I were ever to need more cooling power, in the current configuation of the case, I could still add at least 2 to 3 more radiators. 2 on the top mesh cutouts and 1 in the right rear. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

B-H,

That's one nice and clean setup!

Again, I really like those Boston speakers too! If only they were black to match. Don't get me wrong, those speakers put out some good sound.

I've got some black plastic paint around here somewhere ............ I've been meaning to paint these things from the day they were given to me (throw aways). I like them and they work more than well enough for what I need........... . I'm not really that big into computer audio, that's what my Bose system upstairs was designed for.

The only problem I'm having with the new setup (Soyo LCD) is that its to big to fit under the hutch I built, I had to insert blocks under the sides to get it up high enough so that the display would fit under it. ............. Now I just need to figure out how to make it look right.........

make the plywood standing up(instead of two layers laying down) woodglue it to the top piece of the "hutch" after predrilling holes to put some woodscrews in and vinir it and you should be good to go :)

dont forget to pre drill holes (with a 1/8 bit or so, mabie a lil larger(as long as its smaller than the outsides of the threads and at least as big as the shaft)) and recess holes for the heads of the screws (probably between 1/2" and 7/16" bit(as long as its a bit bigger that the screw head) and about a 1/2 " deep)

you dont have to vinir it, but it would good on the edges you can see

and you could use pine board or the like or whatever the rest of the table is and do the same thing(i just assumed that plywood is all you had laying around)

good luck with that :drinkers: :supz:

I may just re-make the sides, not a big deal really, I make this sort of crap all the time in my shop, its just a little cold out there right now..................

Yah, the plywood I have under there now I pulled out ofthe burn box for the wood burning stove last night cause I didn't feel like going out in the cold, I'll work on it later when it warms up a little so I'm not so rushed. I sure would be nice to have a heated wood shop like I used to back in Colorado..............

that would be nice, working with frozen fingers is never fun :drinkers:

(my earlier instructions were for if you didnt have much of the wood leftover from when you made the thing, so 2 more sides even bigger than original were out of the question, and i also forgot you WERE handy enough to create that monster of a case. my apologies for thinking you couldnt figure it out yourself :prayer: )

No problem..............;) I'm sure that your instructions are a great help tp some folks that have read this thread. Actually I'm thinking of building a complete new dest/hutch combo, something that matchs a bit better. I built the desk years ago out of some leftover redwood and plywood from a decking job back in Colorado and the hutch is out of plain MDF I got from somewhere I can't remember, but I'd really like to have something a bit newer and a bit larger..............

Yah, the 19"er does look a little out of place................... I still remember back when I got the 19" display and how much better and nicer it looked than my old Samsung CRT, sort of like the way the 24" compares to the 19" ...............
