Ubisoft Announces Far Cry® 2 For Xbox 360® And PlayStation®3 System

London, United Kingdom – 3rd January, 2008 – Today, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Far Cry 2 is a next-generation first-person shooter being created by Ubisoft’s Montreal development studio.

More than just a visual and technological achievement, Far Cry 2 immerses players in an entirely new kind of gaming experience, featuring a custom-made video game engine built from the ground up. My be is that they will establish a console base first and then release it for DX10 and the PC platform. Worst case, they'll wait to get some buzz before making a separate release on the PC version.

Doh, I hope they release it for PC. Far Cry is one of my fav games.

Well im pretty sure this announcement is just for the console versions cause this game was announced for PC a long time ago. Infact PC Gamer had an article about it last october and it says PC-DVD ROM on the official site.

The original Far Cry® won PC Gamer’s Action Game of the Year Award in 2004. Since then the combined installments of the Far Cry® brand has gathered critical acclaim and numerous awards, and sold over 3 million units.
