NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Features and Requirements Leak Out

Other details of the D9M family have already surfaced. ChileHardware published slides yesterday claiming the GeForce 9600 requires a 400W power supply that requires 26A on the 12V rail. Unlike previous mid-range GeForce cards, the D9M will require a 6-pin supplementary power connector.

The 9600 GT's core will be clocked at 650MHz and connect to memory over a 256-bit bus running at 900MHz, DailyTech notes. It's not yet known how many unified-shader Stream Processors the chip will contain.

If all the code names are getting confusing I understand.

* D8M: Eighth generation mainstream, previously named G98
* D8P: Eighth generation performance, previously named G92
* D9M: Ninth generation mainstream
* D9P: Ninth generation performance
* D9E: Ninth generation enthusiast

That's a ton of NVIDIA jargon to remember.
