Good thing you didn't buy now (or I hope not) when you said that on Dec 16th...

Dec 16th = ~$8.25
January 4th = ~$6.48

Down nearly 25% during that time period... It's going to under $6 if you ask me.

considering Amd closed @ 6.25 today, I am really starting to consider buying, with CES going on, i would imagine they're going to start gaining more attention from the general public.

if it goes below 5.50, i am going to definitely buy, shouldn't be too long, considering it went down a dollar in just two days.

yeah like I said above sub $6 and it might be a good buy pending a few things...

Can they fix Phenom and get a new stepping out the door?

How many ODM's will pick up there yet to be released low end mainstream cards... The sub $99 market is huge

Is anyone buying Barcelona or is the server market share still decreasing?

NVIDIA has the 8800 mobile parts out now... ATI going to maintain there noteboom market share?

What will bring AMD back up? If Fusion doesn't launch right and fast then what will happen?

The 3870 X2 looks like a good GFX part, but it's high end and that is a small percentage of the market.... Lot's of factors to consider if you are investing a big chunk in AMD. Also if the rumored Intel/NVIDIA deal happens will that crush this battered stock down even more?

The reason why i want to invest, and as others have said, i really don't see AMD going down completely anytime soon, this is the lowest they've been for quite a few years, but they've come back before, most likely they'll do it again, but it'll definitely take some time for them to get back on their feet. Especially with the Phenom mess they've gotten themselves into. But if anyone is going to invest, it'll definitely have to be for the long run.

I agree about the long run here. IT may take another 5 to 10 years to reach the potential of a really good return. This is a good time to buy.

Years ago, if I had the chance to realize that Chrysler stock at slightly below $5/share was to hit heights of $90 in the long run, I wouldn't need to my day job anymore. Retiring at age 34 would have been excellent! :P

AMD company bonds, assets and customer base for revenue should keep the company engine going.
