lucid dreaming

Post by hercules71185 »

Hey I had a scary event a few nights ago without the ability to WAKE UP. Anyone have this problem?

My main thing for this post. Is I think if people can figure out how to give people the affect of lucid dreaming, then the video games might be out of luck.. lol

If I sleep lying on my back I tend to lucid dream..........it can be cool as I can almost control what's going to happen in the dream ;)

lol keep doing it you WILL control it. Its hard to not wake up at first. But, you gotta just relax as soon as you fade out of the dream do this trick most people use. Spin in circles in your dream and leave your arms out. It relaxes you and puts you back in the dream.

examples of things you can do fairly easy.
go anywhere in the world.. and solar system etc
fly, its semi hard you gotta think of the feeling of flying not physical.. Weird but, its simple still
make anyone you want appear.

do this if you ever find yourself in the dream.. Look how vivid your mind is. How much your mind can really think of. If you see a friend. Look at his face closely you can see every detail. Or walls, anything its crazy how good it is. But, remember in dreams. The people in your dream think you are nuts. You tell them its your dream they are like WTF are you talking about.. Kinda realistic.

or are we all superheroes in another universe and our dreams are our crossing into it? lol

yea, I like them a lot.
I just started to try to do it by using a few different techniques.
I'll explain later if anyone wants to know

I rarely get them, but they are cool when you realise that you are dreaming.

I think you should share the tricks for getting them more often.

haha, about the wet dream, your body enters a complete relaxed state and you can't control some of your body's liquids.
Morning wood are somewhat related wet dreams but, in no way sexual. Morning wood is also due to being in such a relaxed state and you have to pee, this happens because your body is holding in liquids (urine).

Now tips about lucid dreaming. This might seem like a waste of time but, none the less. It works.
Steps to do this.
Step 1: takes about 1 week to get good enough to move on.
Set an alarm for 90 mins after you goto sleep, keep a pad and pencil next to it.
AS SOON as you awake write down your dream. At first you will only remember maybe 2 dreams a night as you are doing this.
By the end you should remember almost every time you wake up.
On contrary to what you think. This will NOT make you more tired. As long as you do get enough rem sleep you will be well rested.
ALSO, you will actually be MORE awake once you start remembering your dreams. It's proven and I can vouch

Step 2, during step one at LEAST a few times you will probably catch yourself dreaming but, find it hard to stay sleeping.
Well, GOOD. At least you are now catching yourself. the point of step one is because sometimes you will control a dream and wake up and not remember. Dream recall is one of the most important things.
It is because if you can't remember catching yourself how do you know you did? Then it also makes your body more aware of dreaming happening. Notice why some people say they don't dream.. that's why
Now to stay asleep. do a few things. simplest is to rub your hands together. It'll feel different kinda like you have 2 numb hands. Or the best way is to spin around in a circle with your arms out. Don't try anything crazy at first. learn to explore a bit before you try to fly or whatever you choose. Go steal a car it'll be easy and fun. Key thing to remember is just act like normal don't spaz out no matter how interesting it is to catch yourself. The feeling of shock wakes you up.

Step 3, have some fun.
Go travel to other places in the world via flying or superspeed. (if you find you can't run fast or can't fly then write me only rarely do people have this problem)
travel to another planet, galaxy. Things are so beautiful that your mind creates. Its hard to believe you are the one creating them. The images are all from you and all the details too.
go and talk to whoever you want. Get a gun and goto town whatever you choose its just interesting. If you are good, recall a weapon on a game and goto a place where its like the game and make your game from your pc a real 3d type game.

Just FYI the easiest way to do these lucid dreams is called, a DILD, Dream initiated lucid dream. Next is the WBTB, the wake back to bed. hardest is the WILD, wake induced lucid dream.

Easiest, DILD, what this means is you catch yourself in a lucid dream. Simply you do the pinch test(pinch your arm or some part of your body) watch test( look at a watch 2 times the time changes) or the hand test( look at your hands they will look weird, sometimes like you can't focus, but, as soon as you look close you can see the HUGE difference) This is the easy way to lucid dream. Because chances are you have been in REM for a few mins and your physical body is paralyzed. So you can do things easier.

WBTB, second easiest. its easiest really but the most nuisance, wake up 2 hours before you gotta get up. Sit up a bit think about catching yourself in a dream. Then as you are going back to sleep think about it. The last stage of REM is the longest. up to almost an hour. So this is the one where you get the crazy long dreams and easiest to do anything in.

WILD, this is a PITA, pain in the something. lol. I got my own technique but, still hard to do. it gets me to sleep but, by doing this its hard to remember the dream so your time is wasted.
How I do this.

the way I always do it is..
make sure the room is entirely dark, some small like computer lights is ok, anything brighter than say an led turn off,
Whoever is the admin can post this in any catagory they choose.
But, close your eyes and concentrate on any color, I do red since its easy to start with.
DO NOT LET YOUR EYES BLINK (the reason the lights need to be off is this stage, if the lights are on your eyes do slightly open automatically and it will stop this from working)
once the color seems to go from say black to red, all the colors are whatever you want them to be, I then goto green. Slowly let the color change to green in my eyes. Until I can do it 2 or more times in about 5 seconds a change each color to another. then I start letting it create crazy designs that it does on its own, basically holding this state till I see an environment or hear a voice, at that point don't TRY to dream it won't work.
Just relax and by relax I mean in your head kinda.. hard to explain but, I will try.. Basically try to feel 100% weightless. In your head and body. you will experience a weird feeling like you are falling most people say but, I feel like I'm floating up very fast. The first bit of the dream I find it easiest to just keep rubbing my hands together for a few mins to get relaxed enough to do something(in your dream body obviously)

Now you should be aware of dreaming and did it yourself. :-D

As I said before some of this seems pointless the waking up every 90 mins at first. But, you NEED to remember them.
Your dreams are intoxicating your body with soo many drugs you have no idea. SOO powerful no acid in the world is stronger. MORE powerful than any acid. It's healthy tho lol. But, its hard to remember them because its basically a sub conscience divider from reality. Your normal mind just tosses it out. But, by recalling them your artistic ability tends to advance according to some tests.

i had sort of one just last night, it wasnt really lucid, but i was awake and didnt realize i was dreaming, so it came to a point where someone threw something at me, and in the dream i wanted to jerk my head to avoid it, so in real life i jerked my head really violently (and banging it really hard on the head of the bed. got a good fist sized lump) and made a total spaz of my self.

I do that all the time! when you are drowsy and falling asleep.

I jump all the time and find that I hit myself in the chest with my knees or something stupid like that.

I once had a girlfriend dig her fingernails into me while we were asleep. Took just about all of my strength to get her to stop! I wonder what she was dreaming of.

lol when you JUMP awake its because you wake up naturally with excitement. And JOLT since your body is no longer in sleep paralysis. I used to do it in english class lol. Lucidity is CATCHING yourself in a dream while still in it.

I nearly had one of these last night.

I can't remember what I was doing, but I suddenly became aware that I was dreaming, but in my realisation I got excited and woke up. I knew as I was getting excited/waking up that I had to relax, but it was too late at that point.

This is my second near lucid dream, its strange how when you want to be aware in dreams its much more likely to happen. Both times were when I went to bed early and I had a disturbed nights sleep. Probably all the waking up gave me more chance to dream/allowed me to remember my dreams more.

I hope I'm not dragging this thread out of it's recent unnecessarily, but I have a topical story. This happened today.

I typically get up between 5:30 am and 6:00 am. I get up early when the weather or roads might be bad. So last night I set my phone alarm for 5:30 am. The alarm on my old phone (blackburrry 8703e) never gave me fits, but this new (htc mogul) phone is a bit buggy. Anyway I set it for 5:30 because I thought that the roads might be bad (30 mile commute into work) and I didn't want to fight the idiots.

So my phone may or may not have gone off. I'm not sure at what point I was dreaming and what point I was awake. I "remember" the phone going off and getting up and taking a shower. When I got done in the bathroom I walked back into the bedroom and noticed that it was 5:20. My phone alarm went off ten minutes later. I have no idea if I dreamt the first alarm or if it was real. Maybe I'm just going crazy, hard to tell.
I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong.

I do that kind of stuff all the time, I usually sleep in late (hell I woke up at two today) but if I have my alarm set for something important I'll wake up about half an hour before the alarm. I think it's probably some type of physical process from back in the day (like the 1500s :-D)

I do the same thing, I wake up an hour before the alarm, then half hour, then 15 minutes, then usually a couple minutes before, and then I just turn it off and get up.
