I last used GEIL memory in this 6-way DDR500 round up found here

I was not all too impressed with their memory at all. I've used it since and had the same results. My ideas on Geil are such: It will run only at the advertised timings and speed. DO NOT expect it to do tighter/looser timings or overclock much above it's rating.

If you are fine with this then no worries, but if you want some ability to tweak your memory go OCZ, Corsair, Kingston, PMI, or another enthusiast company.

I suggest reading this review very well before you purchase memory PMI PC-4200 Turbo Memory

How much did you get your GEIL PC-4200 for? Last I checked PMI PC-4200 was a little under $325 for a one gig kit

my GEIL PC4200 512 kit was around $160, very cheap i thought.
Youre right in stating it doesnt like tight timings, but that doesnt matter when ur running P4, cause timings dont account for much.... its raw clockspeed that the P4 likes....

It seems Geil run very well with P4 based systems, but run very badly with AMD systems. Apparentley their internal timings and things dont work very well with AMD systems... ive heard this from many reliable sources...

I also have some geil golden dragon, it did not like my nforce2 im hopping that it will do better on an nforce4 or intel chip set. geil is not all bad but they have been know to be on the lower end of the performance spectrem. Like i said at the Lan try overclocking it and use memtest to see how good it is.
