Intel D975XBX2

Post by robertkrop »

Guys,

I just have built my new sytem. Intel MD D975XBX2, Q6600 CPU, DDR2 2x2GB Corsair, 8800 GTS video card, Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB Hard Drive (ATA). I am ready to install OC, but after loading all files needed to start windows setup its going to a blue screen. It's telling me that I should be checking if BIOS is up to date, but why would that make a differance? I am installing windows Home 32 bit.

If you know what to do please let me know

I don't really know what the issue it but it's easy enough to make a bootable floppy (provided you have a floppy drive!) and update your BIOS. Easy enough don't think it would hurt to try. Post on this board after you do it.

I have updated the BIOS and I still get the same message------"Check with yiur hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory option such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advance startup option, and then select safe mode"

Technical information:

Stop: 0x0000007e (0xC000005.....)

any suggestions?

I have tried with one stick of memory, but I get the same message. In order to be able to disable caching or shadowing do I have to move the jumper on the board to pin 1-2 (advance settings).

Can that mean that the board is faulty?

Where exactly is setup crashing? Are you using a comercial Vista CD or a burnt copy?

You could try disabling core multiplexing. Also what voltage/speed/timing specs does your memory have?
