C: to D: CDRW Copying problem

Post by arofs1 »

I am having trouble copying files from my HDD (C) to a DVDRW or CDRW (D). I have always backed up my personal files on to CDRW or DVDRW’s with no problems, but in the past couple of months the system crashes when this occurs. It usually starts transferring files but crashes before they are all cop[ied.

This is an error message I copied from one of the crashes if that means anything:
BCCode : 44 BCP1 : 83508DE0 BCP2 : 00000D63 BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

On some occasions I also got a message saying:
“In the process of copying files the system stops and gives a message which says " The disk has been marked “read only” by UDF V2.00 writing software". On checking the disk it then shows to be full and will not allow any further adding to that disk.”

I have reformatted the CD’s and DVD’s with InCD, but the same problem reoccurs.

I can use D drive for other functions (eg. Playing/copying CD’s/DVD’s etc) with no problems.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, including how to change a CD/DVD-RW from being read only to writeable.

Have you changed your brand of choice for dvd-r or cd-r? You may have gotten a bad batch of disks.
