I should really read the official blurb on the changes, but what is it that v3 is bringing?

Adblock plus works with the beta, about the only add-on that does >_<

FF3 beta 1 seems better/smoother/faster? than FF2 but is clearly not ready yet. Too many bugs right now.

Let's hope they fix them on the final release.
I love firefox :D

I haven;t tried it yet considering that am using firefox 2.0 and I got no problems with it. But I might tried this one out considering that I like firefox features.

FF3 is supposed to be more like the OS it runs on, so if it were running on vista, it would most likely have all of the system icons and the aero effect, but the other thing is that the UI is "supposedly" going to change, so that when you're browsing through your bookmarks, it should feel the same as if you were browsing files in windows explorer, that was the original plan, at least. even though we've yet to see anything like this, even in beta2.

here's a link for some of the things that were considered and may actually be in the final release: http://blog.mozilla.com/faaborg/2007/06 ... -features/

hehe

I think some coder had one beer too much :drinkers: when he tried to make ff look like the os in run on. ;)

Personally I run 3 puters with different os but all carrying ff 2.0.0.11 and I cant imagine how ff would look in the other two. :?
I'm certain I'll stick to this version 'ntill a proper ff is out. (if it works, don't fix it) If it's just a bug, fix the bug.

Wow, I just found out about a cool thing FX3 does.

Pictures tell it better :P
(the ghosted text is me dragging, the point of the most 'focus' is where the mouse was)

Does the transparent dragging with pictures too.

think they'll (in this release, or EVER) fix the memory leaks? I use Meebo, so firefox is always open and I noticed it costs me nearly 40 seconds per step.

That goes for anything you can drag.

Beta 3 incorporates the much anticipated “Proto” for OSX Macintosh interface, which was previously being tested as an add-on to the browser.
so beta 3 should be 'a comin' 'round the mountain soon, mozilla has already updated nearly half of their extensions to work on Beta 3

In Vista it even looks good... compared to betas 1-3. Mozilla's actually getting closer to their goal of making it look more like the native theme of the operating system.

Don't close Firefox while you have downloads going with the download window closed....................................... I learned it the hard way. Oh and, the resume option doesn't seem to work at all too. I learned that the hard way as well.

Let's download that 400MB file for a third time from that crappy 100KB/s connection!

Get the DTA (download them all) plugin download manager for firefox. It works so much better than the built in FX one.
