Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1.2 Patch Released

Post by Apoptosis »

Infinity Ward has issued a new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare patch, updating the game to v1.2. This update takes care of the game's Lean view offset issue, addressing the glitch reported by several community members and documented and sent in directly by community member GaretJax which is commonly referred to as the Left / Vertical Lean Glitch, in addition to preparing files for compatibility with the future release of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Mod Tools.

The patch is 13.86MB and can be grabbed here

How about they fix the glitch where if you have steam running in the background or some other programs that the game wont go all the way in. You just get a black screen and the music instead of the game itself. I imagine it's just resources, but once I quit steam, it works fine with other things running.

strange... don't have that bug... but to be honest I installed it on the test bench and beat it before I even got a chance to install the game on my personal system that has steam and all that.

Single player was F'ing awesome, but short. I beat it in about 4.5-5 hours. Multiplayer is fun as well. I like the ranking and unlock system with the perks. I'm nearly to the Dead Silent perk and considering the amount I sprint, I can't wait to get there.

I'm with Apop... I can't verify the bug or offer suggestions as I only run Steam for my Steam games and I bought COD4 retail. Steam forums were pretty good back in the Half Life 2 nightmare days... might give a shot there and see if anyone else has experienced the problem.

dgood... next time you're playing, AIM me and I'll give you the IP to our server if you wanna check it out.

Anyone know if you can run this on a 5900xt? cuz I have one of those lying around and might install it on there for lan purposes. Is there some basic difference between teh 5X00 series nvidia's and the ati 9800? eg 9800 pro and 5900xt? why can 9800 run cod and the 5900 not? were they not the same pixil shader and direct x model card?

I'm sure it will run it on low resolutions and low quality settings.

gives an error. "videocard driver doesn't support separate alpha blend. glow disabled" then it just doesn't launch. I was curious what the real difference was. I am loving playing it online though Level 26 and counting.

COD 4 uses OpenGL 2.0 and 'separate alpha blend' is an OpenGL feature that you can't get since it's not supported in the drivers. I'm guessing this is on your GeForce 5900 series card and the game should still play okay minus the separate alpha blend.

see I thought that, but It gives the error and the call of duty 4 console pops up as I said. then I exit from the console and the game just exits and doesn't launch. I'll do some more searching, I feel like it should play. It does say 6600 or better or 9800 or better. he 6600 is better than the 5900xt. Just doesn't seem right to me.

well I think that settles it.
Funny thing is it says I fail it on my gaming rig that I do play it on. It claims my FX-60 is two processors that are unknown.

If you all are playing a lot still get on Xfire and we can join the same servers easily. Especially if you launch cod4 as a non-steam game through steam so all the in game chat works correctly. Xfire: DGOOD

only gold I have is the deagle. I switch weapons far too much to get anything in gold. Gold M60 with the red dot would be sweet... or the Gold W1200 shotty.

Would this game be worth getting for only the single player? I have been contemplating it for a while now, but I hear the SP is REALLY short, but action packed.

probably not unless you really like the call of duty series. the SP is good but y es too short for the only reason to buy it. If you can't MP wouldn't get it.

Single player in this game is probably the best i've ever experienced. Would I spend $50 for JUST single player... probably not. If you can catch it for $30, maybe, but not at $50.

If the single player is good enough to play time after time I might still get it... How is the SP replayability?
