yeah trust me I noticed it... Had a couple brokers actually call me this afternoon about it.

I put up this news post at 4pm CST on it - http://www.legitreviews.com/news/4353/

Intel missed analysts' estimates by two cents per share and came up $100 million short on the estimated sales.

The bigger issue I think is what that and yesterdays other bad news will mean on the market... for example...
-- Japan's stock market plunged to its lowest in more than two years Wednesday as investors fretted about an overnight dive on Wall Street amid a growing conviction that the U.S. is headed toward a recession.

Those worries also drove the dollar to a 2 1/2 year low against the yen.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 stock index lost 468.12 points, or 3.35 percent, to 13,504.51 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. That's the lowest finish since Oct. 28, 2005.
With all the bad news yesterday, the world markets are reacting today -- Japan is down almost 500 points this morning....

Some friends are betting the US market drops 300-400 more points today as a result of the bad news by Intel and others, since it happened after the market closed. This could be the start of the recession that wasn't supposed to happen.

Nah...people will be pouncing on undervalued stocks before long.

I saw the drops in the market. If it shows any sustained longevity the FED will lower interest rates to stimulate economic growth. It's not just the stock market, the Housing loan industry is taking major hits with record foreclosures, the banks who loan the money taking major hits for the same reason.

Now is probably a good time to buy some Intel...especially since there isn't much sign that AMD is going to give them a run anytime soon.

I was thinking the same thing. Buy low, sell high. I wish it was that easy. :)

intel missed for the worst and AMD missed for the better, posting less loss than expected. AMD has been hammered this past year+. the recession will probably hit this industry pretty hard in the personal computer area. people wont have much extra income to buy new comps - though in the business sector it might not take a hit if the Bush "stimulus" package is designed to help business purchases as he said in his speech the other day.

Intel has enough new processors launching with the new 45nm design I'd be surprised if they didn't increase in price. It's funny the technology that drives the world is still subject to up and downs.
