I wrote this somewhere else - I think technudge - also, but I figured I would piss people off here too :)

LEAVE IT DIE!!

For the love of everything good in this world, let one of these formats die NOW so we can enjoy a single format in the future and can actually buy equipment that will play ALL the movies out there! I know if you are an early adopter and bought hd-dvd you are thinking I am nuts, but the same would be said if the roles were reversed and blu-ray was losing and hd winning, by the people who own blu-ray.

I thought hd-dvd would win, hell I predicted it - but I will be glad to be wrong so I can actually buy a high def player! I will NOT buy one as long as there are competing standards! That is foolish, unless you have money to blow and want to buy both (then I will give you my address to send me some too :p )

I WANT hd-dvd to win, but with it on its death bed I hope it never comes back! If hd-dvd gains more support all of a sudden, we will be right back where we began with neither format winning and the consumer losing.

Mike

Just think - if you have a hd-dvd drive for the xbox360, I am sure they will do blu-ray if/when it finally becomes the only standard.
Remember, I am opinionated and nothing I say or do reflects on anyone or anything else but me :finga:

I didn't vote but I wanted to give other people the opportunity. I just want one format to win once and for all.

I voted for Beta vs. that bad quality VHS format. Hey, I guess I'm 20 years out of touch here.

I don't have any DVD burner ... yet, until one of the standards finally wins. So, I'll be happy when one format dies and the other lives on as a standard. :P

Holding off until the war is won, price drops, and programs start coming out in that format.
