New build for Intel 8400

Post by Sowser13 »

Anyone have a suggestion for which mobo I should pick up? I'm planning to build a multimedia machine that will run my tv, stream movies around the house, play music, edit videos, and play games. Are there any mobos that can handle the 45n out of the box, have support for duel video cards of the 8800 variety (large) with some slots left over for expansion, and have support for multiple hard drives that I plan to rip my movie too?

You'll probably want to go with the 790 boards.

Exactly what he said with the nForce 790i SLI motherboard, but if you can't wait the 780i SLI is out now and supports 45nm quad-cores, SLI and a ton of hard drives.

Thanks for the input guys. Does the 790 still support DDR2 or will I have to go with the more expensive DDR3? And when do they come out, 2nd Q?
