Re: funny warning on the 9800 GX2
the heat thing kinda makes sense, but do not force cooling is a little pointless
keep in mind, there is always somebody that creates a need for these types of warning

Re: funny warning on the 9800 GX2
hmm, the forcing of cooling sounds like something i'd do, considering my fan is just resting on top of the plastic of my graphics card.
but seriously, who would touch the heatsink after having the computer on?.......maybe i would....

Re: funny warning on the 9800 GX2
Please refrain from putting your graphics card in a vice and twisting the handle until you can't squeeze it any more. Also, don't put it in the oven, and pick it up without oven mitts.
Do they seriously need to tell us these things? The average person buying videocards and installing them is going to know not to do this sort of stuff. I know that someone had to do this to warrent the warning, but these cards haven't even been released yet. The developers must be really dumb!

There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.

but seriously: with cards that have no temp sensors, you have to check somehow when OC'ing

Ya, well the average person knows that HOT coffee is HOT and yet one person won millions in a lawsuit over it. Never overestimate the intelligence, or underestimate the greed of the American public. Warnings are not placed for consumer protection, they are placed for manufacturer protection from frivolous lawsuits. They know that many people...far too many...can be opportunists...in the very worst sense of the word.vicaphit wrote:The average person buying videocards and installing them is going to know not to do this sort of stuff.
