Hi Dan,

I got hold of Prime95 25.9 B4

I don't know what I did but the pc shutdown in just few seconds. I was looking for "round off error checking" in one of the drop-down menus at the top.

Any idea?

I've actually read somewhere that matching the QPI voltage with the CPU helps the overclock. And quite honestly after doing that for awhile, I've come to agree. 3.8ghz has been solid as a rock for me since then. Like Dan said before, just lower the multi and raise the BCLK a tad bit until you see the 2000 mhz on your ram options. That's how I got my Dominators to stay at 1600 mhz. at a multi of 20x and BCLK of 160 that gives me 3.2ghz on my motherboard. 160 and 200 are the only ones that give me any option for 1600(well 1603 anyway lol) on my i7 920. You probably don't even need to overclock that high either to get the magic 2000. So as long as you have good airflow and a good cooler going, you shouldn't have an issue. and as mentioned, Matching the CPU and QPI voltage has seemed to do good. I haven't had any issues since doing it. I'm not sure if that was the issue but i tried keepin up with this thread lol

After you got the user name, you should jsut be able to run the Torture test. That will let you set how many threads to run.

If it only lasted a few seconds of Prime95, then something is still really unstable. :(

I'm wondering if at this point you need more CPU voltage, even though it isn't overclocked that much, (but it might mean you don't need to use as much QPI voltage to get it to boot).

Try 1.35v for the CPU, go up to about 1.40v if you care to try the tweaking options there too.

OK I put at 1.36 but it turned red when I did that. Let you know what happens

OK 1.36v and 1.38 shutdown as soon as I started the test.
1.39v and 1.40 took slightly longer berfore shutdown but very slightly.
I'm back at Auto. With Auto it took about couple of minutes before shutdown.
How about CPU PLL Voltage?
I ran the test again with Auto after about 10 minutes it shutdown.

InspectahACE if I increase my BCLK anymore I'll go above 2000. The way things are with me right now I don't think its a dandy idea.

ok..are you getting to choose 2000 though?(if you are, i missed that part) what do you have your BCLK set at?

I'm not really sure what else to suggest to be honest.

The only other thing I can think of is starting with everything at stock again (with the memory at 1333Mhz FSB), and slowly raising up the settings and doing a stability check with prime95 for 10-15mins after every change. When it fails the test (hopefully it'll fail rather than completely shut off with small changes) then try tweaking the different voltages and stress test again to see if it's improved.

I'd probably start with changing the memory frequency up and if you can get that to the 1866Mhz without it crashing/erroring, then move the BCLK up.

Good morning Dan,

I was told by OCZ that the ‘QPI/DRAM Core Voltage at [1.69375]’ is extremely dangerous.
In the past few days, I tried every combination while bringing my DRAM Frequency down until I finally got my pc stable. Below please see the final configuration for my stable pc:

Ai Tweaker:
1- Ai Overclook Tuner [Manual]
2- CPU Ratio Setting [26]
CPU 3.35GHz (overclock 5%~6%)
3- Intel (R) SpeedStep Tech [Enabled]
4- BCLK Frequency [129]
DRAM Frequency of 1810 MHz
5- CAS Latency [7]
RAS to CAS delay [7]
RAS PRE Time [7]
RAS ACT Time [18]
REF Cycle Time, TRFC [82]
6- QPI/DRAM Core Voltage at [Auto]
7- DRAM Bus Voltage [1.64]
8- Load-Line Calibration [Enabled]
9- CPU Spread Spectrum [Disabled]
10- Intel (R) C-STATE Tech [Enabled]

As you can see I had to bring down DRAM Frequency to 1810 MHz but I also managed to tighten the CAS Latency from 7-8-7-20 to 7-7-7-18

I did run the Prime95 test and Memtest86+ v2.11.

For Small FFT Test (45 minutes) my Motherboard temp was 45c (maximum) and CPU temp 85c (maximum)
For Blend Test (45 minutes) my Motherboard temp was 45c (maximum) and CPU temp 84c (maximum)
For Memtest86+ v2.11 after 5, pass 0 errors
It also passed all the Everest Stress Tests

Using the computer with no heavy load:

PC Probe II
Vcore 1.22v
+3.3V 3.23
+5V 5.19
+12V 12.19
CPU 42c
MB 42c

Right now after spending so much money and time on my OCZ I feel like I've been let down by it.

My pc specification is:
Silverstone 1200Watt Strider - Modular
Asus P6T Deluxe
Intel Core i7 Extreme 965 - 3.2GHz
ICON Watercooling Kit
OCZ 6GB (3x2048) 2000MHz DD3
2x nVidia GeForce 285GTX
CL X-Fi Titanium Fatality Champion PCIE
VelociRaptor 300GB 10KRPM 16MB Cache
2X 1TB 7200RPM 32MB Cache
LG Blu-Ray-RW/HD-Rom/DVD+-RWwith Power
Windows XP Pro - 32 Bit Pro SPS 3

If this can’t do it, better I do not know what will.

Also, I’m terribly disappointed by ‘guru3D’ and ‘LEGITREVIWS’ review on OCZ Blade DDR3 2000 C7 memory kit. Yes, you can get those numbers long enough to take a screenshot of CPUZ but your computer is very unstable to say the least. Next time, I read any reviews by them I will take it with a ton of salt.

I like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help to a newbie. You were very helpful and patient. I learned a lot from you. Thank you.

Best regards,

sepyx

Sorry you couldn't get your RAM running at full speed, but at least you now have a stable PC that isn't going to crash on you whenever you try and do anything intensive.
