Adobe's policies are really CUSTOMER HOSTILE. They are a grievance for legitimate customers.

I am posting this dialog online to show you how ridiculous this is. ONE HOUR WASTED !!!

Michel: I installed Adobe Photoshop elements 9 on my laptop. This computer crashed, so I bought another one and reinstalled the software. Since the old computer crashed, I have no possiblity to disinstall the software on it. Now I cannot run Photoshop anymore because of a window that tells me that the software is installed on 2 computers; which of course is NOT the case! Please help!

Michel: you should be able to check the activity of the software from the serial number. You could see that only one machine is using it
