Hi,
Can anyone explain how to fix this problem?
I routinely use an Omnikey (the one with the clicky keys).
It runs OK for a few weeks or so when suddenly it does not get activated by the MoBo and there is no warning beep. Everything else works and I can run the system with the mouse but the keyboard is dead.
Then I try another spare Omnikey or two and other cables, etc without any luck. Finally I use a $2 Micron keyboard and it works.
Now for the funny part. After a few days I put the Onmikey back and it works fine and the cycle starts over again.
Could the BX2 have a current drain issue that takes time to recharge? Could the Omnikey use that much more current than the Micron?
All of these keyboards use the PS/2 connection.
My system has the latest fast components and is home-built. This behavior occurs under Win2000SP4.
Thanks for your consideration.

Ya, that is weird. I've come to expect nothing less from this motherboard. My only recommendation would be to buy another keyboard (USB).
I don't seriously (like Intel) expect it to be fixed.
