I have Outlook 2007 on my laptop and desktop. The problem is that I want to keep all the messages and contacts synced between the two. Contacts isn't very hard because I have a static address book that doesn't change very much. However, I have three email accounts that I draw from.
Therefore, I would set all of the accounts on both machines to "Leave a copy of the message on the server" so that the other machine could retrieve them. The only problem there is that if I got a message that was filtered into one of my folders (say a message from Amazon.com to my Gmail account), the filter would run and put the Amazon message into the "Business Emails" folder, but I'd get a second copy in my Gmail folder, completely defeating the point of having the filter in the first place (it was to keep those automated, but legit emails out of my actual inbox folders).
What I need is a tool to keep the two computers synchronized, preferably at the PST level. I want all the messages I receive on my desktop to also be on my laptop and vice versa, without having to "Leave a copy of the message on the server" and thus muck up my filter system.

Don't know a whole lot about Outlook but I run ThinderBird off my flash drive on multiple computers and have no issues with redundancy. I know you can import contacts from Outlook to ThunderBird and many (if not all) of the features are the same. If you carry a flash drive on your keychain, you could give it a go...
Either way, good luck
