Overclock Game

in response to http://forums.legitreviews.com/viewtopic.php?t=9849 i want to see how many people would want to play or try a Game simulating a full system overclock with many many variables

I doubt I'd play, I'm comfortable enough doing the real thing, and have enough different machines at my disposal to play with.

keep in mind it would be constantly updatable to adjust to technology breakthroughs

With each component of a computer able to do varying degrees of performance, I dont see how it could translate.

Take this DS3 board I have that cant get over 3.2ghz, yet other people have the exact same setup as me and can get 4ghz. Each part can be different on different systems so the computer would have to assign a random generator to each inidvidual part to make it at least a bit real, or else everyone could pick the exact same parts and do the exact same overclock.

Yeah, I'd assume there would be a random effect on possible overclocks, with something of a bell curve applied, so that the worst ones can't overclock at all, while the best ones get close to twice the average overclock.

could make it so you get an allowance of certain parts, and unlimited of others(get unlimited amount and variety of fans, and only a certain amount of MOBOs or can only get each one once)

yeah it's meant to have more than one mode: beginner (newbies), moderate, idealistic, and realistic.

anyhow i sent an email over to the guy at Onemorelevel.com but i dont think i'm going to get a response, i'm just some weird guy asking him if he'd sign up for a forum so he can read us talk about this game that we can't make

practical ideas on making this happen anyone?

or mabie an admin can move this to the General Computer forum so he can see it atleast

also, i like the idea of levels of experience type deal, i would definately be a beginner(i know how it all works, just no experience first hand)
