you need another choice, whatever is offering the best/cheapest value

well if you were rich and the AMD was the Athlon 64 FX-74 3.0 GHz 2000MHz HT @ $407
and Intel was Core 2 Extreme QX6800 2.93 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB @ $1,325

Of course the QX6800 is better, nobody can argue on that point.

But keeping price in mind and without factoring overclocking, when you compare AMD/Intel CPUs of the same price, the performance is really similar.

Oh and, I don't care, I'll buy whatever offers best value/performance.

Hey! What about the VIA C-7? It's taking the handheld device mobile market by storm lately. Even some laptop manufactures are using it too. LOL
