Ubuntu is based on the latest Linux kernel, so I doubt you'll have problems with your sound card, the only issue might be wireless.

Should be ok, but you could install xubuntu instead. It uses less resources.

if you use ubuntu 7.04 or newer ubuntu has a very userfriendly ndiswrapper called windows wireless drivers. you just install it via the add/remove and then open it and pick a windows .inf and it should work. honestly the most problems I've had with them and wireless is for cards it thinks it recognizes and can't seem to free it of the driver it defaults to. p3 256mb is fine. It needs 256mb to run the graphical installer. it will run great. as long as you have a processor faster than 500mhz I think. 400 is bare minimum and it doesn't run so well.
