Celeron Vs Pentium M

Post by Tech_Greek »

I have two proccesors that I'm going to decide between putting in my computer.

http://processorfinder.intel.com/Detail ... Spec=SL6VV#

&

http://processorfinder.intel.com/detail ... Spec=SL8QF

The later is currently in my computer and I'm running Vista on it (yes it works, fine might I add!)

Is the celeron going to be any faster? I'm not looking to game or anything, just a little more juice...but judging by the specs the L2 Cache might hinder it?

Having only 128k cache would definitely be a hindrance, i wouldnt do it.

The cache speed being higher wouldn't make a difference? That seems like a REALLY low L2 cache size...

Still won't be much faster. I've seen reviews where Celerons were clocked to an insane level and it really didn't amount to much in the real world. Stick with your Pentium M they are good CPUs.
