to a software genius hacker or whoever would know

Post by hercules71185 »

I think at my friends work there is people manipulating the time clock for some reason during the 5pm hour it shows as 5am. so if you work 4-10 you clock in at 4pm and then out at 530pm one or 2 days a week and it registers as 4pm to 5am giving a 11 hour days and then they go home early.. is this possible? Now out of everyone no one there is smart enough to do such things they are nimrods but, maybe a friend could have arranged this for them. They have also been having crazy amounts of viruses.. I fixed the system at the marina with an antivirus but, still the hacking or timeclock change is this possible?

Most time clocks are attached to 1 master clock, so they are either changing the clock locally or the master clock link is hosed. How are the clocks set up? Can he tell which clocks are being messed with or is it all the clocks?

If it is a software that runs on a single PC, then all they would need to hack it is to change the system clock; that would be enough to screw with the program thats running on the PC.

Only way to get that to stop is to lock out the system clock some how OR get a camera mounted where everyone can see it and point it at the PC.

haha I ordered cameras last night after confirming with them it was ok. The only access they have to the computer now is their new card that has a magnet strip. If they don't have it they have to come in 15 mins early and fill out a form and get one during their lunch break. Kind of a strict policy but, they have been losing at least 10 hours a week per person. avg 9 an hour and altho its just 5 people doing this its a small marina. That is 450 a week. But, how can I fix their clock and will my clock that I'm setting up have a different time clock altogether. It is a different unit by its self and the only communication between the 2 computers is just a word processing sheet. I know its probably possible to hack it. but, at least it will be harder. I'm pretty sure its just the clock on their POS system(not calling it a pos thats the program) Since it seems almost impossible for them to get to the book keepers computer

I personally really really liked that timeclock that was done by fingerprints but, that was expensive haha
