all intel dual-cores work well on the 680i SLI. The quad-cores are a bit picky, but all the older 266Mhz FSB ones run without major issues. I know because that has been my setup for a good half a year now and mine is overclocked.

this boad will run any socket lga 775 you throw at it, except for the new 45 nm ones. but if you want to overclock a quad beyond ~3 ghz, get a p-35 or x-38

LOL......If that's the case, where did all those guys on the other forums get their high Quad OC's, Nvidia chipsets work just fine with the current quads. The newer Intel chipsets seem to clock a bit higher, but the CPU chip is more of a limiting factor, that and the skill of the OC'er. Check out some of the high-end OC'ers on some of the other forums, 3.6 and higher can be gotten out of G0 stepping quads on the 680i boards.

Simply stating that you don't "have" to have a P35 or X38 board to go beyond 3 GHz like you stated. 680i boards have been doing just fine OC'ing the Quads and if you're wanting to run a SLi setup, they were the only option out there up until the 780i came out................ 8)
