Ok so here is my wish list for the upcoming upgrade.

My budget is pretty much set at 300. I already have the PSU ( see sig) and the Micro ATX case which I need the two 120mm fans for.
My main question is that I currently have an eVGA 7600GT PCI-E video card but it wont run DX10. Would it be better to keep my current card and go with a X2 5000 black edition CPU along with XMS series Ram along with my current video card or go with what I have linked above and upgrade the Ram and CPU to higher end stuff later??
Consider this..

Re: Consider this..
great board... just finishing up my review on it ;)
If you plan on keeping the board for a bit you might what to go with a BE-2400 processor... so much cooler and over a couple years it will save you the price difference on your electric bill. You planning on gaming? For DVD playback and/or HD DVD & Blu-Ray playback the 780G and CPU can handle it stutter free.

Re: Consider this..
I am planning to run the board until I max it out. By maxing out I mean having the fastest processor, memory and video it will support. I plan on playing Call of Duty 4 and other games along those lines.
If you didn't have a top of the line Video card for your review maybe I'll try to match your test rig for the review.......

Re: Consider this..
My suggestion to you is to splurge a little bit and get one of the new geforce 9600 cards. They are below 200 dollars, and they are supposed to be quite good. However, I am biased towards nvidia. They make such good cards...
.Although, I think that the rest of your components are very good for your price range. Good luck on your upgrade. From What I hear, you are going to love Call of Duty 4.

Re: Consider this..
So , stopthekilling , you would say spend the extra right now on a better CPU and or Ram and do a seperate Video card upgrade later?? like maybe the 3850 or so?? The 780 chipset begs to be paired with an ATI card but would I be better off with a 8800GTS....in time?

Re: Consider this..
in all honesty i'd wait for Apoptosis to publish his article on that motherboard before doing anything, but yes i'd go with what he suggested about the BE CPU

Nate,
AWESOME! I'll just have enough patience to read your review before making a jump to this MOBO!!! After reading a few digs on the INQ about it and the FULL Radeon HD 3200 on board, I've fallen love with it so much.

Why add a video card to this setup when the FIRST full blown integrated graphics is there vs. the typical skimpy integrated graphics. A person can upgrade later at a better price break for a video card.
This isn't your AVERAGE MOBO by any means! http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/ ... phics-game
If you can toss in a few F@H WU's in the review I'll be ever so happy.
As for the CPU, there are +/- about the BE-2400. Some say it's locked and can't OC. I'll wait for the review to honestly state how things turn out.
I'll be looking so much forward to your review.
