Crysis – New Patch in Development - 1.3

Post by Apoptosis »

Crysis – New Patch in Development
In an earlier weekly update we already confirmed that Crytek will continue working on patches for Crysis and supporting the community with new updates. Currently our Multiplayer dev team is fully concentrating on the upcoming Patch 1.3. It has been in development for quite a few weeks already, but we do not have a release date available just yet.

As for the content we can already say a bit, but not that much. The patch will not only include bug fixes and further gameplay balancing, we will also introduce new features to it. Unfortunately we cannot tell you too much about the content at this point, but be sure to not miss out the upcoming weekly update next Wednesday since it will include more news and details on the content itself.

It took me a while to get used to Crysis, then after a while, it became my favorite FPS.

Crysis ran like crap on my system. It will run even worse considering I now game at 1680x1050... I also found the game repetitive and boring after a while. Almost the worst $50 I ever spent...

Crysis has been voted "FPS game of the year" quite a few times, and is consistently rated over 90% on every review site I have seen.

You have to give the game a chance to really get into it...and if it runs like crap on your rig, I can understand that you wouldn't want to continue playing it.

I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I just find it interesting to find 2 people that don't like it. :-k

So, what FPS do you guys enjoy?

Crysis is great as long as you find the correct graphics settings for your system. Try cutting object detail down to medium or low and you will see great improvements, and shadows can be bumped down a bit also for a FPS boost.

Just remember guys, resolution doesn't HAVE to be maxed out to make a game look good.

I like games that are nice to look at, but I much prefer a game that has good gameplay any day.

I just played through Far Cry again after having it sit on my shelf forever...loved it again because of the gameplay even though the graphics leave much to be desired.

Yeah, and sprinting full speed into them and knocking them down, giving you enough time to pick up a sea turtle and using maximum strength to chuck the turtle into their heads.

Still, I like being a lumberjack.

Anyone who plays multiplayer should try this: Cut a short palm tree right near the palm fronds, then crouch near the truck part of the top of the tree. You should get the option to pick up the tree, and you should be completely camoflauged!

I tried the demo and thought it was a pretty intense shooter, but it was sorta ridiculously difficult, or at least it seemed so to me. I'm waiting for it to go down in price, or a sale to come to buy it. Maybe by then, I would have a card that can run it better than my current 8800GT. :?

I am good for about 40 minutes, but then I have to exit and restart the game to keep decent FPS.

I have a Q9450, 4 Gigs of RAM and an 8800gts

So, What About Patch 1.3? It seems that the new patch isn't going to be coming out and v1.21 will be it for Crysis. I just caught this on Crymod:

At this time, there almost certainly will not be a patch 1.3 delivered for Crysis. We are aware that this news will disappoint many of you, and we would like to apologize profusely. There is a good reason for this and we hope you understand when you hear more about the reasons why in the very, very near future. Please realize this was an extremely difficult decision, but please do know that we are listening to your comments and are making more consistent community support a high priority.

We are confident that the things we are working on will be appreciated by the community, and we hope for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

That is pretty lame for a game title that had this much hype. They have also gone from 'weekly' updates to 'monthly' updates, so it seems Crysis is quickly falling from grace.

Is it not that they are just shifting manpower into making the next crysis (Crysis warhead)?

How stable is the current release? There still much wrong with it?
