Hello,
I have a PCI USB 2.0 Card that I want to put in to my computer. It has 4 external ports and two internal ports. I am looking for the plug-in adapter that will turn the two internal USB ports to external ports. My Intel D975XBX2 came with one of the wire and expansion port adapters. I ordered two from Tiger Direct but they have the wrong connector on them a 4 pin black plastic connector. The USB 2.0 Card has something different. I don't know what it is called. The PCI card is this one if it helps:

If you click on the photo of the card you can see the two internal ports. Does anyone know where I can get the plug-in adapters to make these two internal ports external ports?
Thanks,
Robert

Re: Internal USB 2.0 to External
Those are standard USB plugs.
You could get a couple of standard cables and run them through the case to the outside in some fashion.
Or, you could take those same two cables, cut them to length, and tie the wires, (preferably solder them), onto one of the USB do-hickies that fit into a slot on the back of your case.
This is what I did with an internal memory card reader. It had a plug that was meant for a header on the MOBO.
Didn't have any open headers so I cut the plug, cut a USB cable, tied them together and used those internal ports you're pointing out on the card.

Thanks. I will look in to that. I am surprised that no one has made or offers something for this.

Re: Internal USB 2.0 to External
Well, I ended up connecting 2 1TB external drives via the USB cables that came with the drives to those two internal connectors. I run the two cables out through an expansion slot cover that I removed. Seems to work fine and that gave me an additional two ports. Bringing my grand total of USB 2.0 slots to 18. I am working hard to not uses USB hubs. I have had too many problems with printers, etc. not working well through hubs even good ones. So no more hubs.
Thanks for the idea of using the cables.
