SourceBatista isn't shy about telling the media that he owns a $26 million Embraer Legacy 600 business jet, a $19 million Pershing 115 luxury yacht and a $1.7 million speedboat whose engines have to be changed after each race. In the living room of his mansion in Rio's Jardim Botanico neighborhood, Batista has parked a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The latest model lists for about $500,000.
Flaunting his wealth might be fun for now. It may seem less sporting, though, should complaints from federal prosecutors and fearful Indians gain traction--or demand for Brazil's abundant resources take a fall.

Billionaire Eike Batista Has SLR McLaren in Rio Living Room
This is nuts... Eike Batista keeps a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren in his living room as a show piece...
Re: Billionaire Eike Batista Has SLR McLaren in Rio Living Room
Makes me sick to think of people having that much money and just wasting it by parking a car like this in a living room.
Atleast it wasn't a Bugatti or something. I really don't like the look of the SLR McLaren.

An honest-to-God case of more dollars than sense.

I wonder if he does folding@home. He is going to die just like the rest of us. Wish people like that could spend their money more wisely.
Re: Billionaire Eike Batista Has SLR McLaren in Rio Living Room
Did you guys ever stop to think there is a good reason for this?
Maybe the guy really just wants the feeling of a good climate controlled drive in movie?
Ok but seriously I would use it like a drive in movie if it was there. However, I'd never put it there in the first place.

So it wasn't wise to continue to help many people stay employed by building a car? How many jobs did that car create, when you consider the materials, labor, design and so forth? He helped people by buying that car, who am I to fault him for it.vbironchef wrote:I wonder if he does folding@home. He is going to die just like the rest of us.
