We have received some great feedback on Badaboom since the beta was launched earlier this month. Please note that this is a beta client and does not represent the shipping product in stability, features, or performance. If you plan to publish a review of the product, please wait for the final version, which will be released on September 18.
Some key changes include:
Bug Fixes:
· DVD compatibility: some DVDs may cause Badaboom to crash. These issues have been reproduced and are fixed in the final version.
· Output framerate is sometimes different from input framerate. This has been resolved.
· Altered aspect ratio: the UI has been improved to better inform the user the output resolutions.
· General stability: there are a variety of crash issues that have been fixed. The release version will be significantly more stable than the beta release.
Improvements:
· Customizable output file location & name
· Greater selection of output resolutions
· Unlimited custom bitrates supported via UI and through custom XML profiles.
· Custom profiles with unrestricted bitrates can also be created in the current beta version.
Thanks, The Badaboom team

Badaboom Buggy, But New Version Coming Sept 18th
I haven't had a chance to run Badaboom yet, but it seems like it has a number of bugs and the crew from Elemental doesn't want us to review it till the next beta comes out next month. Just thought I'd give our community the heads up.

Re: Badaboom Buggy, But New Version Coming Sept 18th
Had to post back since I've been trying for the past few days to get Badaboom (beta #2) to convert ANY video without ANY success.
According to their official blog: http://www.badaboomit.com/?q=blog
I'm not a video guru. I know I don't see MPEG4 on the list, but then why was I able to convert some of these same videos before? And more importantly can I convert my MPEG4 videos to MPEG2?
(Seems like a giant waste of time to convert by CPU to MPEG2 and then with Badaboom to the format I really need...)
According to their official blog: http://www.badaboomit.com/?q=blog
I've tried converting my .AVI and .MPG files, but all I keep getting is this:- Input video formats – MPEG1, MPEG2, H.264, WMV, VC-1, FLV, RAW
- Input audio formats – MP2, PCM
- Input file types – .m2v, .mpg, .vob, .avi, .TRP, .m2t, .mt2s, .mpeg, .264, .mkv
